Vinícius Werneck is a Fulbright Scholar at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy, and a doctoral candidate in political science at the Institute of Social and Political Studies, Rio de Janeiro State University (IESP/Uerj). He has worked as a consultant on media, campaign and politics in Brazil. He was also a Lecturer in the School of Communications at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), and has studied presidential and local elections in Brazil and the United States, having published book chapters and journal articles on the subject. He is part of the editorial board of the journal “Cadernos de Estudos Sociais e Políticos” (Notes on Social and Political Studies). Werneck was a Research Group Coordinator for the Latin American Association of Political Science (ALACIP) from 2011 to 2014. Werneck received his M.A. in Political Science from IESP/Uerj in 2011 and his B.A. in Journalism from UFJF in 2009. His research at the Harvard Kennedy School/Shorenstein Center will examine the effect of personal values on political representation and political behavior in Brazilian National Congress.
